KSS Hires a New Student Engagement and Activities Facilitator

The Kahnawà:ke Education Center is pleased to announce Cougar Kirby as the successful candidate for the Student Engagement and Activities Facilitator at Kahnawà:ke Survival School.

Cougar has a Bachelors of Sociology from McGill University. He was previously employed as a research assistant and intervention facilitator with the Kahnawake Schools Diabetes Prevention Project and has provided programming to the youth, promotion of healthy lifestyles and worked on diversifying youth engagement in all of the elementary schools within the community.

Under the direct supervision of KSS Student Life and Prevention Administrator Krissy Goodleaf, Cougar will be working on increasing the amount of activities and extracurricular programs offered within the school. Increase in student activity programs supports our approach to student retention, helps students find a sense of belonging, team spirit and community while simultaneously building self-confidence and increasing the overall health and wellness of KSS students.
