Grade 10 Graphic Arts students will display a cultural art piece in an impressive showcase at the International Projection Mapping Festival at Van Horne Skatepark in Montreal.
Through the innovative medium of projection mapping, they transformed their artwork into a large-scale, immersive visual display titled "Enio'shátsteke' Tsi Niionkwarihò:ten" (to strengthen our ways), that will be on display alongside a building.
The students' pieces highlight Kanien'keháka culture, incorporating traditional motifs, heritage symbols, and contemporary interpretations.
The festival provides them a platform to express their artistic identities and creativity while engaging with a broader audience. Their work not only celebrates cultural identity but also demonstrates the cutting-edge potential of technology in visual arts.
Their work will be on display at the Digital Block Party at Van Horne Skatepark on Thursday, September 26 from 5:00 PM - 10:30 PM.
